Overcoming the barriers to solar electricity in residential
developments.

Using the Eastbridge housing development in Waterloo as a case
study, this paper examines the barriers homebuyers face when
presented with the option to upgrade to solar electricity when
purchasing a new home. The results from
this research will be presented as a list of recommendations
to key stakeholders trying to encourage greater uptake of renewable
energy in the residential sector. |

at the University of Waterloo (*.pdf).

The aim of this report was to identify incentives and barriers
to the construction of green buildings at the University of
Waterloo. Specific recommendations are presented to move forward
with green building implementation at UW: strong administrative
leadership, sustainability targets, faculty/Plant Operations
collaboration, and increased communication (a Plant Operations

The Creation of a Resident Attraction Strategy in the
Context of Migration Motivations: A Case Study of Collingwood,
ON.

This research project seeks to examine counterurbanization
motivations and its application to the context of place marketing
using a case study of Collingwood, ON in-migrants. Such research
is important because while studies pertaining to both migration
and place marketing have taken this into account, there has
been a lack of overlap in their endeavors. Furthermore, there
has been a lack of academic investigation into the consumption
of place marketing. It is important to know what goes on in
the minds of potential migrants and how they evaluate locations
in order to understand the context of both counterurbanization
and place marketing. |
