The Projects The Sustainability Assessment Research Projects include a variety of initiatives exploring the fundamentals of sustainability assessment and how to apply them in establishing sustainability assessment regimes and in carrying out assessments of particular undertakings. The projects include work to:

clarify the basic requirements for progress towards sustainability,
specify the criteria for sustainability-oriented evaluations and decisions in particular cases and contexts
deal with trade-offs
design sustainability assessment laws and processes, and
support individuals and institutions engaged in sustainability assessment application.
