Transition KW Group Launched 

In May 2009, the Local Economic Development program partnered with the Waterloo Public Interest Research Group to host Jane Buchan, a Transition Town facilitator, to speak at the University of Waterloo about this growing movement creating richer, more vibrant communities through the re-localization of services and resources needed to survive and thrive in a world of depleting fossil fuels, global warming, and increasing instability in the world economy.
