As part of your 4^th year of study, you will spend 8 months working on a project in a developing country. This experience will allow you to use knowledge you’ve acquired and put it into action! Your placement may take you to

Burkina Faso
Botswana
Ghana
Malawi
Peru
Vietnam
Bolivia
Guatemala
Nepal
Senegal

You may

work on a health care delivery system
do an environmental assessment
create a marketing or small business development plan with local entrepreneurs
develop urban social services
help communities restore and protect their forests and water supplies
develop green space for poor urban communities or:
address key issues such as child labour or HIV/AIDS

The projects will be as varied as the passions that you and your fellow students bring to the International Development program.

St. Paul’s College will identify international placement opportunities and arrange the details of your placement. There are extra costs for the placement courses, such as travel.

Regardless of your ultimate career objective, your field placement experience will give you invaluable insight to bring to your chosen path.
