Paul Polak, development entrepreneur and founder of the Colorado-based International Development Enterprise, addressed International Development students at UW on November 5th, 2009. Dedicated to developing practical solutions that attack poverty at its roots, Paul has worked with farmers around the world to help design and produce low-cost income-generating products to help people move out of poverty.
Author and economist Dambisa Moyo drew a crowd of more than 400 UW students on November 13th for her lecture, "Dead Aid: Why Aid is Not Working and How There is a Better Way for Africa."
