INDEV 10 is a weekly non-credit seminar reserved for INDEV students. Each session will feature a guest speaker or an INDEV Field Placement Information Session. Please Note: The schedule is under development and subject to change. Please check back for updates as speakers and events are confirmed through each term. Announcements will be posted for scheduled events only.

Each event unless otherwise noted is held on Fridays in MacKirdy Hall, St. Paul's University College from 12 to 12:50 PM.  Bring your lunch!

November 18 - Fermin Flores, Executive Director, Lanao Aquatic and Marine Fisheries Center for Community Development, PHILIPPINES

Fermin Flores will talk about his work with community-based resource management and peace-building in the Philippines.
LAFCCOD assists fishing communities dependent upon coastal and marine ecosystems and promotes mutual respect and understanding amongst Muslim, Christian and Indigenous peoples.

November 11, 2011 - Umair Muhammad, “Development: Big and Small Pictures”

Umair Muhammad is a fourth year environmental engineering student at the University of Waterloo. He spent last summer in northern Ghana as a volunteer with Engineers Without Borders, working alongside a non-profit organization called Agribusiness Systems International to help farmers adopt good post-harvest handling practices and storage infrastructure.

Meet the WUSC team from Ottawa. Information about 2012 field placements and the 3A application process will be presented.
Application forms will be distributed. Students are required to complete and submit their applications on or before Friday October 28th, 2011.

Presentation on the 2A Field Placement and Language Program Survey and 2013 field placement options.
2A surveys will be distributed. Students are required to complete and submit this survey on or before Friday, October 28th, 2011.
